Census Forms Should No Longer be mailed

Beginning on May 1, Census Workers will be conducting door to door operation.  Census workers will be carrying a Census official bag, and an ID without  a picture.  The ID will have their name, and anyone in doubt can ask the worker for an ID with a picture if they so desire to confirm that they are who the ID says they are.  The Census worker will be sent up to six times until we find someone at home, or we confirm that the home is vacant.  We will sometimes go on weekends, evenings, etc.

City’s Receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (“GFOA”) is pleased to announce that the City of Parkland has received GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its budget.

The award represents a significant achievement by the City.  It reflects the commitment of the City Commission and City Staff in meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.  In order to receive the budget award, the City needed to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation.  These guidelines are designed to assess how well the City’s budget serves as: a policy document, financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.  Budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories and the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award. Congratulations to the City of Parkland!
