Davie to rededicate renovated Bergeron Park in August
The Town of Davie will rededicate Bergeron Park located at 1900 South Nob Hill Road on August 14, 2010, at 10 a.m.
In a joint venture, the Town and local businesses improved the park with new and upgraded amenities. In all, 80 % of the project’s funding came from local firms. The partnership between local businesses and the Town of Davie exceeded all expectations and proved to be a valuable endeavor for the community.
Bergeron Park is a busy park with a high volume of pavilion rental reservations. Some of the revitalization projects included, new BBQ grills, 8 new picnic tables, landscaping that included oak trees, and a new recreational trail overlay. A new split rail fence was built and the parking area was asphalted along with the curbs being replaced. The granite was replaced around the statue of Dorothy and Percy Bergeron, the early settlers of the Town after whom the park is named.
The rededication ceremony is open to the public and will be held under a tent where food and refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Parks and Recreation at
