Laura Pausini launching tour at Hard Rock Live
International singing sensation Laura Pausini will launch her North American tour at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on October 14 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, July 29 at noon.
Pausini has sold over 32 million records, worldwide. She is a multi-platinum mezzo-soprano who has worked alongside some of the most globally-renowned singers, songwriters and producers.
Laura Pausini was born and raised in the town of Solarolo, Ravenna in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. She started to sing in local piano bars with her father Fabrizio, a musician and singer, when she was only eight-years-old. In 1987, at the age of 13, Pausini had her first recording with the album I sogni di Laura (Laura’s Dreams), produced by her father. In 1993, her career took off when she won the prestigious Italian Sanremo Music Festival with one of her best known songs, “La solitudine.”
Laura Pausini (1993) was a big success in Italy, France and The Netherlands. At the end of 1994, Pausini released her first Spanish album, a compilation of ten adapted versions of hits from her first two Italian albums. Her song “Se fue,” was one of the most played songs of 1995 according to Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks. Following this success, Pausini synchronously released Spanish editions of her native Italian language albums Le cose che vivi (1996), La mia risposta (1998) and Tra te e il mare (2000) as Las cosas que vives, Mi respuesta and Entre tú y mil mares, respectively. She also recorded three bonus tracks in Portuguese for a special edition of Le cose che vivi.
Pausini’s first English language single was a version of the hit “La solitudine” or “The Loneliness,” adapted by Tim Rice. In 1999, she released the ballad “One More Time” written by Richard Marx and recorded with David Foster on piano for the film, Message In A Bottle. Also in 1999, famed Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti invited Pausini to his annual “Pavarotti and Friends” concert for a duet version of the aria Dein ist mein ganzes Herz, entitled “Tu che m’hai preso il cuor,” from Franz Lehár’s operetta Das Land des Lächelns. From the Inside (2002) was Pausini’s first English album and featured the singles “Surrender” and “If That’s Love,” that both peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.
The Best of Laura Pausini (2003), a compilation album was released in Italian and Spanish. Resta in ascolto was released in 2004 and the Spanish version of this album, Escucha, netted Pausini two Latin Grammys making her the first Italian female to receive such honors. She won another Latin Grammy for the best female album with Yo Canto in 2007. She is also the recipient of numerous other awards from ASCAP, Billboard, the World Music Awards, Premio Lo Nuestro, and Platinum Europe.
Pausini’s latest release is Primavera In Anticipo (Italian); Primavera anticipada (Spanish). The album has been on top of the Fimi/Nielsen charts for more than five weeks earning five platinum awards in less than one month.
