Bank robber foiled by Broward Sheriff’s Office in Tamarac

A Tamarac bank robber got the shock of his life when, as he exited a bank Saturday afternoon thinking he had gotten away with the heist, he was met by Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies who were waiting to take him into custody.

PSC approves minor increase in FPL rates

Mister Maid cleans out clients jewelry; police looking for other victims

A cleaning service’s dirty work has landed two men in jail. The pair was only supposed to be cleaning their clients’ properties, but they were also cleaning them out by stealing their jewelry. Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives have identified five victims and they believe there are more.

Broward County School District awarded $3.3 million in Green Jobs Training Grants

Hypower Systems visited Heron Heights Elementary School in Parkland, bringing along a special trailer that uses a kitchen setting to show people how solar power works. Heron Heights gets about 20 percent of its power from solar and has a regular program that exposes students to science and environmental programs.
