New Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach transportation project public meeting
FORT LAUDERDALE — The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a Public Hearing to discuss the New River CSX Railroad Bascule Bridge Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study on Tuesday, Jan. 25, starting at 6 p.m. The hearing will be held in the Events Hall at the International Game Fish Association Hall of Fame located at 300 Gulf Stream Way in Dania Beach. The hearing will begin with a 30-minute open house. A formal presentation will follow at 6:30 p.m. after which there will be a public comment period.
The PD&E Study is focused on the South Florida Rail Corridor from the overpass at State Road 84 to the overpass at State Road 736/Davie Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. The purpose of the study is to identify the preferred bridge alternative, either rehabilitation or replacement, that will adequately accommodate future rail and marine traffic in the study area.
This public hearing is being conducted to afford interested persons the opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed improvements.
Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
