Broward school officials headed to NYC to recruit teachers despite local layoffs

While School Board members meet today, Tuesday, Mar. 9, 2010, in a workshop at the K.C. Wright Building in Fort Lauderdale to discuss possible employee layoffs, district officials will head to New York City later this week on the taxpayers’ dime to recruit new teachers.

Dania Beach – Westside Master Plan Community Meeting

The Mellgren Planning Group, on behalf of the City of Dania Beach, will be conducting a community meeting on September 29, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall located at 100 W Dania Beach BLVD to discuss concepts relating to the Westside Master Plan. Your participation at this meeting will help shape the future of Dania Beach. The results of the previous community meetings and citizen input will be presented at this meeting.

The Westside Master Plan, formerly known as the Griffin Road Corridor Study, encompasses properties within the City located west of Interstate 95, as well as Ocean Waterway Mobile Home Park and the Melaleuca Gardens neighborhood.

The master plan will create redevelopment alternatives that would result in development patterns that are compatible with potential airport expansion while enhancing residential areas and establishing the opportunity for economic development.
