Tamarac to honor our nation’s heroes at Veterans Day Ceremony
The City of Tamarac invites the public to join us in honoring our nation’s heroes this Veterans Day, November 11, 2010. The Ceremony will start at 10:30 am at Tamarac’s Veteran’s Memorial Park, located at 7825 Southgate Boulevard, Tamarac (the Northwest corner of University Drive and Southgate Boulevard).
This year’s ceremony will include special guest speaker Juan G. Ayala, Brigadier General, USMC. General Ayala currently serves as the Chief of Staff for the United States Southern Command. Attendees will include Tamarac’s Mayor and Commission as well as other local dignitaries. The J.P. Taravella band will perform and a traditional wreath laying ceremony will follow the speakers.
“This ceremony is our way to celebrate and honor the brave men and women who have fought, and continue to fight for, our country and our freedom,” said Tamarac Mayor Beth Talabisco. “It’s only a small token of our gratitude and respect, but one that I hope the public, and especially our veterans and active duty servicemen and women, can appreciate and participate in.”
After the ceremony, light refreshments, sponsored by VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, will be served.
