Mosaic Theatre receives Chase Community Foundation award

Mosaic Theatre is one of 20 organizations across the U.S. to receive a Chase Community Giving Award in the amount of $20,000. In 2010, this successful Online Giving Program attracted more than 2.5 million Facebook users in its second year of success. Winners were selected through a Facebook voting platform.

Mosaic was selected among more than 200 winners from 34 states and Washington, D.C. Winning charities will use the funding to support their causes. Mosaic Theatre is a professional company dedicated to presenting thought-provoking, innovative theater.

Chase Community’s Giving program focused on small, local charities. Participants of this summer program were requested to chose from 500,000 of their favorite small and local charities and vote for them to win a share in $5 million.

To be eligible for the program, charities had to be a registered 501©(3) public nonprofit, have annual operating expenses of $1 million or less; must not discriminate against any particular groups; and had to meet other requirements as described in the program’s rules.
