Lauderdale Lakes holding symposium for high school students
As part of its Project TEAM (Teach, Empower, Achieve, and Motivate) initiative, the City of Lauderdale Lakes Department of Social Services will present A Road Map to Success, a special symposium geared towards providing local high school students with the opportunity to improve their work/life skills and increase their chances of becoming employed. The free event will take place on Saturday, May 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lauderdale Lakes Multipurpose Building located at 4340 NW 36th Street.
Workshop sessions will cover resume writing, interviewing techniques and how to dress for success, and will be facilitated by Greg Burton of TNG Associates. In addition to the workshops, participants will be able to check job openings and apply for jobs on the spot with Ross Dress for Less, McDonalds, and CVS Pharmacy. One-on-one college preparation counseling will also be provided.
The program is open to all high school students and community service hours will be available. The City of Lauderdale Lakes Project TEAM is a series of youth and family programs that focus on academic enrichment along with the development of team-building and leadership skills.
