BSO radio show going on the air Sundays

Tune in AM 1470 WWNN radio Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. for All Points Bulletin with Sheriff Al Lamberti. The Broward Sheriff’s Office was approached by the station to do a law enforcement radio show and Sheriff Lamberti agreed to launch the APB program, seeing it as an opportunity to reach the public on a variety of timely topics. The Boca Raton Police Department did a similar program on WSBR, WWNN’s sister station, for nine years, but recently ended its run.

Different BSO units and initiatives will be featured each week and BSO employees will join Sheriff Lamberti on the air. The premiere program will focus on citizen involvement in the war on crime. Crime Stoppers Commander Michael Calderin will discuss the successful program that offers cash for tips that catch criminals and Christine Sawyer, coordinator of BSO’s new Prescription Drug Initiative, will talk about the role of parents in Operation Medicine Cabinet.

WWNN reaches much of South Florida with its 50,000 watt signal and informative round-the-clock talk show format.
