Martorano’s opening at Seminole Hard Rock in February

Restaurateur Steve Martorano is bringing his signature Philadelphia-inspired Italian flavor and flair to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino this February with the opening of Martorano’s. Martorano’s is designed as a dining experience where guests can expect a friendly, atmosphere accented with, classic movies and more. The 7,400-square-foot restaurant, located in the former Jazziz space, will have inside and outside seating for approximately 300.

The main dining room will feature white Italian marble bar tops, a mozzarella bar complete with an antique Italian proscuitto slicer, and nostalgic artwork photos of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Mario Lanza in addition to Steve’s family and celebrity photos. The central focus of the dining room is, of course, the expo kitchen.  All eyes will be on Steve and his team as they work their culinary magic while preparing fresh mozzarella, various Italian specialties and their world famous meatballs.  There will also be an outdoor bar with an after-hours menu.  The nightly DJ, along with the state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, will set the scene with Classic R&B and Classic Rock music.  High-definition televisions throughout the restaurant will show scenes from Steve’s favorite classic movies, sporting events, fashion, travel and cooking shows.  The energetic atmosphere combines exceptional food with music and video to create the most unique dining experience.

Signature specialties such as his world famous meatball, eggplant stack, and shrimp scampi will be served in the main dining area. After-hours, the restaurant will serve the late night crowd with the best Philly Cheese steak on this side of the east coast, as well as other specialty items. The open kitchen will allow guests to view Steve crafting specialties from his menu, for all to enjoy.

“I am very excited to be opening my newest location at the Seminole Hard Rock South Florida’s hottest location,” said Steve Martorano. “Now more people will be able to experience the ultimate dining and entertainment venue, people will be amazed by what the Martorano’s brand is all about.”

“We’re very excited to welcome Martorano’s to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino,” said James Allen, CEO of Seminole Gaming and Chairman of Hard Rock International. “The addition of a high-end, high-energy Italian restaurant is a perfect fit for us at the Seminole Hard Rock.”

Martorano’s will boast a new JBL, state of the art 10,000 watt sound system, powered by Crown Amps, all linked to MAC Media Servers. When it comes to clarity and strength, these are the top and most sought after manufacturers of the best sound equipment in the industry. Feeding this magnificent sound system, will be a professional DJ booth led by Rane and Pioneer, the most respected names in the business. When it comes to lighting and illumination, Martin Professional leads the pack. Moving light fixtures will absolutely light up the joint with it’s’ color changing abilities and wall covering graphics. The restaurant will be outfitted with 32 Panasonic Plasmas and the atmosphere is guaranteed to be electric ”CUZ” as the owner would say.

Martorano’s partner in the new restaurant is Buddy Morton, owner of Passion Nightclub at Seminole Paradise and the former owner of several nightclubs in the Atlantic City, N.J., area.

About Martorano’s and Steve Martorano

Steve Martorano’s humble beginnings were as a club DJ in the ‘70s before opening his one-man operation, a sandwich delivery business which he ran from his apartment (and later from his mother’s basement). His creations became so popular in South Philly, that Steve opened his first outside venture – a take-out restaurant in a strip mall serving pizza, sandwiches and pasta dishes. Again, increasing demand moved him to a larger, free-standing sit down restaurant. In 1993, Steve moved to Fort Lauderdale and started what would become a South Florida legend. Seventeen years later, Café Martorano’s on Oakland Park Boulevard has become a worldwide sensation. Its unique atmosphere combines exceptional food with extraordinary music. Authentic Italian-American dishes are served amidst showings of Martorano’s favorite movies and music on a sound system that rivals that of South Beach’s hottest clubs. The ambience attracts a clientele that ranges from the local, sexy, hip crowd to entertainment’s hottest celebrities. Steve Martorano opened his chic Las Vegas location at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in 2007.  Like, Fort Lauderdale, the restaurant has received rave reviews for its innovative dishes and homemade sauces and accompaniments.

Over the course of two decades, Steve Martorano has achieved the remarkable accomplishment of raising the bar for the entire restaurant industry. This “Italian Guy from the Neighborhood,” has taken the craft of cooking to new levels through persistence and hard work. With his self-taught talent, Steve has created venues in which as owner he is the chef, DJ and operator. More information can be found at www.cafemartorano.com
