New England Patriot gives back to community

Darius Butler of the Darius Butler Foundation led an effort to provide 100 Thanksgiving Turkey Dinners to 100 lower income families in the Coral Springs area. These families were identified by school guidance counselors. A number of professional athletes from the area including Donald Thomas of the Miami Dolphins and Chris Gamble of the Carolina Panthers also contributed to the Thanksgiving Giveaway. Butler played quarterback at Coral Springs Charter High School and graduated in 2004. He played cornerback at the University of Connecticut and now plays cornerback for the New England Patriots. The giveway was held in the Coral Springs Charter cafeteria and the families receiving the dinners were present. Butler told the audience it is important to give back to the community. Coral Springs Mayor Scott Brook was also present and thanked Butler for his efforts.
