Brazilian Night Folia Takes Over Paradise Live on June 20
Shimmy, Samba and sing along to the international beats of Brazil during Folia at Paradise Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Saturday, June 20 at 10 p.m. Tickets are available at the door the night of the event.
DJs Mauricio Morozini and Sula Lopes will rouse the crowd with the hottest South American rhythm mash-ups. Portuguese favorites Batuke Brazil and Jucimara Marciano will perform with São Paulo’s CPM 22 set to headline.
Formed in 1995, CPM 22 is Brazil’s alt-emo-punk sensation. Popular in the Brazilian underground, CPM 22 independent released A Alguns Quilômetros de Lugar Algum (A Few Kilometers From Nowhere). Two years later they were included in the Brazilian MTV video-music award in the demo clip category with “Anteontem” (The Day Before Yesterday). In 2001, they released their first mainstream album called CPM 22 featuring the hits “Regina, Let’s Go,” “Tarde de Outubro” (October Afternoon) and “O Mundo Dá Voltas” (The World Turns). Chegou a Hora de Recomeçar (Now’s The Time To Start Over) was released in 2002.
CPM 22 reached the top of their popularity in Brazil with songs including “Desconfio” (I Suspect), “Ontem” (Yesterday), “Não Sei Viver Sem Ter Você” (I Don’t Know How to Live Without You), “Dias Atrás” (Days Ago), “Peter” and “Garota da TV” (TV Girl) and “Inevitável” (Unavoidable) roots.
Tickets cost $35 and can be purchased at the door at Paradise Live the night of event. Doors open at 10 p.m.
