Fusion eatery opens on Hollywood Blvd.

It was a toast to success as the Hollywood community rallied around the newest eatery along the boulevard. Satoro Restaurant

had its official grand opening Tuesday night as a crowd converged on the upscale, SoBe-styled lounge/restaurant.

“Five years ago, my business partner Jonathan (Tovar) told me come to the States and do something, get out of Venezuela,” said part owner Peter Santana, who was formerly an attorney in Venezuela. “Two years ago, I said let’s do it. I love food, I love to eat–it’s like a dream come true for me”

So, Santana partnered with Tovar and Vincenzo Locoreli to create Satoro, with the name a combination of the three owner’s names. The trio then brought in Alexander Casimir Dziurzynski, a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute. Dziurzynski cut his teeth at the Le Cirque at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and is the former executive chef at the recently closed Las Olas Blvd. landmark Jackson’s Steakhouse and its sister restaurant Fish.

“Alex is amazing-a great guy,” said Santana. “He does magic in the kitchen with the food.”

Dziurzynski created a Mediterranean-inspired fusion menu with Italian, French, Spanish and Greek influences.

“The emphasis here is on fresh, local ingredients,” he said. “Nothing is processed and no preservatives are added, so the flavor profiles really stand out and can stand up to the setting. Downtown Hollywood is bustling with dining options and people with different tastes, and I believe that, as a nouveau fusion restaurant, Satoro suits any palate.”

Santana and his partners spent a lot of time searching Miami, South Beach and other areas for a location before they decided on the corner of Hollywood Blvd. and Dixie Hwy.

“We think this is the sexiest place in Hollywood–an upscale environment–a little piece of SoBe,” said Tovar. “Our main goal is to bring more young professionals community.”

And while the vibe is upscale dining, the venue is still kid friendly. Hollywood Mayor Peter Bober came out to help celebrate the grand opening and brought his wife and two children.

“It’s exciting to be here–since it’s opened I’ve been here a number of times with my wife,” said Bober. “The success of this restaurant determines the future down the boulevard. Residents need to get the word out that great things are happening and Satoro is only one thing.”

Official grand opening with the Chamber. That would be considered a soft opening in August as the restaurant gets its gears going and tests the market.
