The First Time Homebuyers Workshops educate prospective homebuyers and provide an opportunity to receive a Certificate of Completion on the following topics:

  • Discussion on the role of the buyer/seller and the various professionals involved
  • Questions to assess readiness to buy
  • Preparing for home purchase
  • Understanding credit, mortgage financing, tax relief programs, predatory lending and fair housing issues
  • One-on-one counseling session to address your individual needs

The workshop is intended to help prospective homebuyers understand the home purchase process and allow them to determine their readiness to purchase a home in Broward County. If you require a Certificate you will have to schedule a one-on-one counseling session in addition to attending the First Time Homebuyer Workshop. To schedule a one-on-one counseling session, check the appropriate section on the registration form.  (see link below).

Workshops are held on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. These workshops are free of charge and are held at the BCHA offices at 4780 North State Road 7, Lauderdale Lakes, FL 33319. We are now accepting registrations for the April 13th workshop.
