Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Glam-A-THON recently presented the Broward Health Foundation with a check for $92,000 to help local women who are fighting breast cancer. Glam-A-THON raised the funds through a variety of events that all lived up to the organization’s glamorous reputation. The pinnacle of Glam-A-THON’s fundraising events was the Glam Doll Strut.
The Glam Doll Strut, which took place on Saturday, Oct. 13, featured teams competing for a variety of awards, such as Glam Queen and Ms. Stiletto Smackdown. Broward Health had more than 50 participants join its team, the High Healers, and raised approximately $10,000 for the cause.
“Once again, working with Glam-A-THON has been an incredible experience,” said Dennis Stefanacci, executive director of the Broward Health Foundation. “Tammy Gail and all those involved with the Glam Doll Strut and other Glam-A-THON events do a tremendous job of not only raising money for local breast cancer patients, but also raising awareness about early detection. We are grateful for their efforts and look forward to this partnership continuing in the future.”
This was the second year the Broward Health Foundation was the recipient of Glam-A-THON’s fundraising efforts. Last year, Glam-A-THON raised more than $100,000 for the Foundation.
“Glam-A-THON was proud to partner with Broward Health Foundation again this year,” said Tammy Gail, president and founder of Glam-A-THON. “It is very rewarding to know that by partnering with the Foundation we are assisting local women battling breast cancer. Thank you to all those who helped raise funds for Glam-A-THON. We look forward to even more fabulous events next year, as we strive to kiss breast cancer goodbye.”
