Fort Lauderdale, FL – The CDTC Transformers, a group of local professionals dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC), will be hosting a “Wrap” Up appreciation cocktail party at Stout Bar and Grill on Sept. 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Sadly, last holiday season there were not enough toys to go around for the kids of the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center. This year, to ensure that this year every child gets a toy, the CDTC Transformers and the Marine Industry Cares Foundation, a non-profit that raises money and awareness for local charities through the help of the maritime and local communities, have joined forces to help make this holiday season extra special.
“We kicked off our Christmas in July holiday toy drive on July 25, and since then local businesses have been hosting holiday toy boxes to help us in our effort to collect toys for this upcoming holiday season. The kids of the CDTC are dealing with tremendous health issues, and we want each and every one of them to experience the joy of having a present to open during the holidays. We are thrilled to have local businesses in the community come together to help the CDTC, which helps the children of our community,” said event co-chair Elizabeth Weiss.
Admission to the festive Christmas-themed cocktail party will be $10, plus a roll of wrapping paper or a new, unwrapped toy and will include one free drink and appetizers. There will also be virtual toys available for guests to purchase. Guests are encouraged to come dressed festively for the event: think reindeer ears, Santa hats and a room filled with red and green attire. Santa and some of his elves will be on hand to help collect toys and mingle with party guests.
Local businesses that have been collecting toys include: Fairport Yachts, Raul Cook DDS, Law Offices of Cindy Vova, MHG Insurance Brokers, National Marine Suppliers, Stout Bar and Grill, The Triton, Ventre Medical Services, One Price Dry Cleaning, Image Medical Spa, Maritime Professional Training, First United Bank, Blue Interactive Agency, Peyton Bolin, PL, Chuck’s Steakhouse and more. Space Plus Self Storage Center is providing storage space for all the toys collected. Que Bella Photography is the volunteer photographer at the event, and Eye on South Florida is providing digital media coverage.
Come out to support CDTC, and help make this upcoming holiday season a special one for the kids.
