Ready, Set, Back to School Toolkit
Fort Lauderdale – As parents get ready for a brand new school year, and students get set to meet their new teachers for the first time, Broward County Public Schools is prepared to kick-off the 2012/13 school year on Monday, August 20, when more than 250,000 Broward County students are expected to attend the first day of school.
Before the first bell rings and students scour school hallways, there are a few things that parents and students need to know and do to make sure the 2012/13 school year and the first day of school gets off to a smooth start.
To welcome parents and students and help the transition into a new school year, the District has launched a “Back to School Toolkit” on its website (browardschools.com). The Back to School Toolkit provides a look at what’s new and changes to expect, along with parent information, student information, and important contacts, resources and tips.
Visitors to the Back to School Toolkit will find everything they want and need to know to begin the school year, from school start and dismissal times, breakfast and lunch prices and menus, who to call, curriculum changes and graduation requirements to new innovative programs, digital citizen and Internet safety, before and after school care, and even a problem-solving flow chart. The Back to School Toolkit is available at http://www.browardschools.com/backtoschool/.
