The excitement continues as Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Centers celebrates Elvis as part of their participation in the 2012 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge Event this weekend at the Adoption Center, located at 1870 S.W. 39 St. in Fort Lauderdale.

On Saturday, August 11, and Sunday, August 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Animal Care will feature Elvis music from DJ Scott Evans.

During the week, those who adopt a dog or cat will receive a chance to win a pair of tickets to see the “Memories of Elvis” show at the Broward Center, as well as Elvis CDs and DVDs. New pet adopters will also receive savings coupons from Pet Supermarket for supplies and food.

So far, Broward County Animal Care has saved 84 dogs and cats since the Challenge launch on August 1. In order to be considered for the top prize of $100,000, Animal Care must successfully adopt 300 more pets than it did during the same period in 2011, which totals a whopping 1,636 dogs and cats.

Broward County’s Animal Care and Adoption is dedicated to providing shelter for lost and surrendered animals as well as the successful adoption of homeless pets. The agency also coordinates the registration of dogs and cats and provides rabies vaccinations to encourage a healthier pet population.
