Salvation Army NEEDS blankets for homeless shelter tonight

The Salvation Army of Broward County, 1445 West Broward Blvd. will open their doors to homeless people who need a place to stay during the cold weather.  Food and hot beverages will be served. Doors will open today at 5:00 pm

On a normal night, the Salvation Army provides shelter for 160 people. According to Major Gene Hogg, Area Commander, “No one will be turned away.”

Major Gene Hogg from the Salvation Army is issuing an appeal to the public for blankets that they can distribute to the area’s homeless population. According to predictions, temperature are expected to drop significantly within the next few days

According to Hogg, “We are in urgent need of blankets to give to the men, women and children who do not have a place to live. We will be happy  to accept new, or used blankets in clean and good condition. God Bless you.”

To donate blankets please bring them to The Salvation Army of Broward County, 1445 West Broward Blvd. in Ft. Lauderdale.
