Veterans ceremony in Sunrise, other news briefs
On Thursday, November 11, at 11:30 a.m., the City will host a Veterans Day Ceremony at the Sunrise Civic Center Amphitheatre (10610 West Oakland Park Boulevard, Sunrise 33351). To commemorate this milestone, Sunrise’s observance will feature music from the WW II era – as well as a 21-gun salute, the presentation of colors, and light refreshments.
Residents are invited to support active U.S. military service personnel overseas by bringing care package items – such as pre-packaged snack foods, individual packets of drink mix and sealed packages of non-chocolate candy – to the ceremony.
This event is sponsored in part by VITAS Innovative Hospice Care. For more information, contact the Sunrise Senior Center at (
