SOUTH FLORIDA LEGISLATORS FORM HAITI RELIEF TASK FORCE
TALLAHASSEE, FL. – Legislators from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties came together yesterday to form the Florida Legislative Haiti Relief Task Force. The group,
appointed by the respective county Delegation Chairs, will provide guidance and oversight to the State of Florida’s jurisdictional response to the earthquake which devastated
the neighboring island nation in January.The appointed members of the Florida Legislative Haiti Relief Task Force are as follows:

“President Preval’s visit and meeting with President Obama reminds us that Haiti will require our attention for some time. I commend Representatives Brisé and Bernard for traveling to
Washington D.C. on behalf their community and the State of Florida to call attention to Haiti’s needs’, stated Miami-Dade County Legislative Delegation Chairman Juan C. Zapata.
“There are many challenges ahead for Haiti’s recovery,” said Representative Bernard. “I am pleased that President Obama and senior officials in his administration recognize the critical
needs facing Haiti. We appreciate the opportunity to participate in this important conversation at The White House.”
