Hollywood Beach Cleanups: Keep Broward Beautiful!
Join us in keeping Hollywoods beach clean! Groups are welcome to join us! Volunteers are needed to collect liter along the beach. Before the beach clean-up, Keep Broward Beautiful will provide an informative presentation.
Dates: February 13th, March 13th, or April 3rd
Time: 9:00am to 12:00pm (noon)

LONG-TERM OPPORTUNITIES:
Listings below are long-term assignments organized by Volunteer Hollywood. The listing(s) below require long-term commitment.
German Translator
Department: Records & Archive Division
Days: Monday Friday (days flexible)
Time: 8:00am to 4:00pm (hours flexible)
Volunteer Description: Volunteers will translate German documents and scrapbooks by a renowned Hollywood photographer. Proficiency in Microsoft Word is required.
Age Requirement: At least 14 years old or older
Number of Volunteers Needed: 1

Tour de Broward/Ride, Run, or Walk for Joes Kids
Memorial Healthcare System
Join Memorial Healthcare System to volunteer at this event, which will benefit the construction of the new Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital. It will feature a 3K family walk, a 5K timed run, a spin-a-thon, and a 50K and 100K cycling event.

Volunteer Tour Guide
Hollywood Historical Society
Give guided tours of the Hammerstein House, a historical home. Volunteers must be interested in the history of Hollywood and able to memorize a script.
Age requirement: 18 years of age or older
Number of Volunteers Needed: 2
Time Commitment: First Sunday of the month from 12pm to 4pm on a monthly basis

GREEN CORNER:
Volunteer Hollywood is dedicated to promoting community green initiatives that will enhance the City of Hollywood. We encourage all volunteers to participate.
Public Works Nursery Plant Sale
Do you have a green thumb? Plant beautiful royal palms, yellow elders, live oaks, and more on your personal property! Trees will be sold for $10 and native shrubs will be sold for $5. Payments can be made by cash or checks payable to the City of Hollywood.
Dates & Times: Friday, January 29th at 8am to 3pm and Saturday, January 30th at 8am to 12pm (noon)

FREE TICKETS: 24th Annual Joe DiMaggio Legend Game 2010
Enjoy this exhibition game, which features well-known baseball players. Memorial Hospital has donated $3-priced unreserved bleacher tickets to our volunteers for FREE. Kids under 12 years of age will be admitted for FREE. The purpose of the event is to raise money for Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital Foundation. If interested in tickets, please respond to this email with your name, address, and the quantity (1 or 2 tickets). Tickets will be mailed via postal mail to your address on record, unless stated otherwise.
