Tri-Rail running late New Year’s Eve from Miami

Tri-Rail is adding a special late-night, northbound train on New Year’s Eve to serve people attending the “Big Orange” celebration in Downtown Miami on Thursday, December 31. The last train of the night will depart Tri-Rail’s Metrorail Transfer Station at 1:30 a.m. on January 1, 2010. The train will make northbound stops until all passengers have departed the train. Regular weekday fares will be in effect.
Passengers attending the “Big Orange” will need to transfer from Tri-Rail onto Metrorail at Tri-Rail’s Metrorail Transfer Station. Take Metrorail southbound to the Government Center Station and then transfer onto the Metromover’s Downtown Loop to Bayfront Park Station (walk approximately one block to the Intercontinental Hotel, which will be on your right). Transferring passengers will need to get a daily Easy Ticket with proof of a valid Tri-Rail Ticket from the Station Agent Ticket Kiosk at the Metrorail Transfer Station or, after 10 p.m., from a Wackenhut Officer on the station platform in order to access Metrorail.
For additional information, call 1-800-TRI-RAIL (874-7245).
