Salvation Army Issues an Appeal for Toys and Holiday Donations

Major Tom Louden from the Salvation Army of Broward County said the organization is worried that they may not be able to help all the families in need this year.

According to Louden…..”As of this moment donations are down and the Angel Tree Program at area malls Angels is well below where it typically should be. There are 1,145 Angels that still have not been adopted. This is a serious situation. Nearly 60% of families this year are first timers, they really need the help.”
Angel Tree Volunteers are located at:

Overview
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program is designed to share the magic of the season with underprivileged children in our community. Thousands of toys and gifts are distributed to needy children each year. In the past seven years, the Salvation Army has collected two million dollars in toys for Broward County children. The Salvation Army provides “Angel Tags” listing a child’s gift wish. Most children yearn for dolls, skates and video games.
