something to make our Earth a better place, but realize that for many people, being green has to make sense financially. If green is cost-prohibitive to businesses and to homeowners, then many people will opt out.

In addition to highlighting locals going green through stories and video, BrowardNETOnline.com is bringing in green specialists to help you sort fact from fiction when it comes to going green. Our first columnist is Fraser Allport, owner of Energy, Water and Taxes, LLC, ( http://energywatertaxes.com ) and a member of the International Green Energy Council and the Renewable Energy Institute.

Fraser, who grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 1982 and received his MBA from The Barney School of Business in 1991, belongs to numerous local, national and global organizations and collaborates with an extensive worldwide network of “Go Green” experts. A member of the US Green Building Council and the World Green Building Council, Fraser works closely with the US Government, foreign governments, the World Bank, the Florida International Bankers Association, the United States Export-Import Bank and the International Finance Corporation to promote global trade for “ Go Green ” technologies and services.

The Miami resident is a Florida Ambassador of Commerce for the International Business Council of Florida. He has 28 years of experience as a self-employed entrepreneur, owning companies involved in Financial Services, Digital Media, Emerging Technologies and Energy and Water Efficiency. Fraser is a futurist whose skill-sets focus on Green Technology and Global Trade. His team-building initiatives and strategic alliances give Fraser’s consulting firm access to the world’s best and brightest people and technology. His company, Energy, Water and Taxes, LLC, participates in the LEED, Green Globes Continual Improvement of Existing Buildings, and GreenGuard Indoor Air Quality programs and is a member of The Florida Solar Energy Industries Association and The Florida Renewable Energy Association.

Fraser is a Florida Ambassador of Commerce for the International Business Council of Florida and over 100 Chambers of Commerce worldwide, including the EcoChamber based in Miami. Fraser is also a member of The Northeast Sustainable Energy Association, The National Renewal Energy Laboratory, The National Center for Appropriate Technology, The Lions Club, The Rotary Club, The Sierra Club, The Audubon Society and the City of Doral, FL Green Programs, The Residential Services Energy Network, The Building Performance Institute and ASHRAE Building Energy Modeling.

An accomplished author, Fraser is highly regarded as a public speaker and educational instructor for Non-Profit, Educational and Governmental programs, including The Collaborative for High Performing Schools.
