The Davie School Foundation was founded in 1984 to preserve the Old Davie School as a museum of Davie and Western Broward County history and culture. Old Davie School is listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1988. Partnered with the Town of Davie, the Foundation operates a seven acre site which includes one of the largest collections of early 20th Century buildings in Broward County: 1918 Schoolhouse, 1912 Viele House, c.1912 Walsh-Osterhoudt Home, replica 1909 Pioneer Shack and Seminole Chickee Hut. Three exhibit rooms highlight the founding and growth of Davie and the role the school played as a community center.
The Davie School Foundation is a 501(3)(c) not-for-profit organization. 100% of all contributions are used for maintaining the Old Davie School Historical Museum as an historic site and educational resource for the community.
