Maplewood Elementary teacher, student to donate Locks of Love

Cari Stuhr, a third grade teacher at Maplewood Elementary School in Coral Springs, has twice before donated her hair to Locks of Love and is ready to do it again.  She will share her next experience with students at Maplewood Elementary (9850 Ramblewood Drive, Coral Springs) on Monday, November 23 at 9 a.m.

The entire Maplewood student body will watch as Stuhr has over 10 inches of her hair cut for Locks of Love.  Several students are also expected to donate ponytails.  Professional stylist Christina from Hair Benders in Coral Springs will donate her time and talents to cut the ponytails for donation and give haircuts to the donors.

This event will benefit Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that provides high quality hair posthetics to financially disadvantage children with medical hair loss. The hairpieces require between six to 10 ponytails and take four to six months to manufacture. It is estimated that children comprise over 80% of the donors, making this a charity where children have an opportunity to help children.
