Silent robber strikes Oakland Park Bank; with video
A bank teller’s morning got off to a bad start when, just minutes after opening for business, her very first customer robbed her without saying a word.
At around 9:05 a.m. September 25, a well-dressed man walked into the American National Bank, 4301 North Federal Highway, Oakland Park and approached a teller. The man didn’t say a word. He just handed the teller a note demanding cash and a bag to be filled. The bank employee, who did not see a weapon, complied with the demand and the suspect fled with an undisclosed sum of money.
The suspect is described as a male in his 40s, possibly of Middle Eastern descent, approximately 5’10” tall, weighing around 230 lbs. He committed the bank robbery wearing a light blue polo shirt, and dark colored slacks.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this robbery should contact BSO Robbery Detective Mark Copley at or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS or www.browardcrimestoppers.org. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to arrest.
