House majority office responds to criticism of recent health care articles
House Majority Office Staff Director Todd Reid issued the following statement in response to the House Minority Office’s criticism of recent articles about federal health care legislation:
“Josh Hafenbrack did Floridians a service by writing about the looming budget shortfalls caused by the future loss of federal stimulus funds. When the Minority Office is reduced to criticizing members of the media for reporting facts and figures, they’ve run out of anything constructive to say.
“Anyone who says that a federal expansion of Medicaid won’t potentially cost states billions more is either fooling themselves or trying to fool everyone else. Someone will have to pay that bill and Hafenbrack called it right – Congress and the Obama administration are going to stick the states with the bill.”
