FTL police investigating Comp USA burglary

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is investigating a business burglary that occurred this morning at approximately 6:00 A.M.  The burglary took place at the Comp-USA located at 1740 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that early this morning an employee arrived to prepare for the store opening, when he observed two cars in front of the business.  The employee observed a group of males forcefully enter inside the business.  A short time later, the males exited the business with property.

As the employee observed the males enter the store, he called the Fort Lauderdale Police Department for assistance.  Officers were immediately dispatched and a perimeter was established.  Upon arrival, officers observed two separate vehicles leaving the business parking lot.  Officers began to follow the vehicles on Interstate 95.  One of the vehicles merged onto the Florida Turnpike and exited into the City of Opa-Locka.  Once in Opa-Locka, the occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.  Officers pursued the culprits and were able to take two of the four suspects into custody.

The second vehicle was lost as it was being followed on Interstate 95.  The vehicle was occupied by four suspects and has been described as a four door dark sedan.  Officers were able to recover some of the property that was taken from the store.

The first suspect that was captured has been identified as Paul P. Derize, B/M, 07/18/1981, and a Miami resident.  The second suspect arrested has been identified as Larnell L. Lymus, B/M, 01/20/1978, and a Dade-County resident.
