Davie creates new green committee
The Davie Town Council recently voted to create and implement the Green Energy and Environmental Committee (GEEC). This committee was created to advise the Town Council about environmental protection, resource conservation, and energy efficiency matters, as well as to promote environmental programs and to educate the community.
According to Town Administrator Gary Shimun, “Davie has always been green, with our parks and open space. Now we want to take a look at being more energy efficient and conservation conscious.” Shimun added, “GEEC will help us in this endeavor.”
The first GEEC meeting is scheduled on July 9, 2009 at 4 p.m. in the Davie Town Hall Council Chambers located at 6591 Orange Drive. Members of the Town Council may be present. See the agenda here.
