YMCA fun day at five locations April 18
Broward County Public Schools is lending its support to YMCA Healthy Kids Day to be held at five YMCAs in Broward County on Saturday, April 18, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The theme of the event is, “Put Play in Your Day.”
The event, in celebration of the YMCA of Broward County’s 65th birthday, will feature a variety of activities for all ages including aerobic demonstrations, swim safety education presentations, an obstacle course for both parents and children and nutrition presentations. At Noon, a special presentation called “Blow the Whistle” on childhood obesity will be presented. In addition, community vendors will share wellness information. Those attending the event will also be able to sign-up for summer camp.
On April 18th only, in honor of YMCA of Broward County’s 65th birthday, the first 65 people at each YMCA location may join YMCA with no joiner’s fee.
YMCA of Broward County locations include: Greater Hollywood YMCA Family Center, 3161 Taft Street, Hollywood; Sheinberg Family YMCA of Weston, 20201 Saddle Club Road, Weston; Parkland YMCA Family Center, 10559 Trails End, Parkland; L.A. Lee YMCA Family Center, 408 NW 14th Terrace, Fort Lauderdale; and Children’s Advocacy YMCA at Rock Island Elementary, 2350 NE 19th Street, Fort Lauderdale.
