Armed robber ties up clerks, steals games before Christmas

Two nights before Christmas, an armed man grabbed two GameStop employees, bound their hands behind their backs and put them in a storage room.

The robber stole cash and at least 23 different game systems, including Xboxes, Nintendos and PlayStations. It took the clerks 10 or 15 minutes to free themselves and call 911. Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives say the robber wore distinctive Jamaican flag sneakers and left the store in a small black vehicle. He is about 6-feet tall, has a medium build and wore a black shirt with black pants.

Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives are encouraging anyone with information to report it anonymously to Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS, online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org or call Det. Ben Koos at (
