One arrested, one at large in Pembroke Park purse snatching; with video

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested one suspect while a second remains at large following a gas station purse-snatching last month caught on camera. Another video obtained shows the wanted suspect using her victim’s stolen credit cards at a Dania Beach food market.

On December 17, Darlene Morris, 39, was fueling up her 2007 Chevy at a Pembroke Park gas station when she was surprised by a woman inside her car, snatching her purse. The thief jumped into a white, four-door 2005 Mitsubishi Galant and, as Morris attempted to open the car door, it sped off, dragging Morris a short distance. Morris fell to the ground and sustained minor scratches.

unidentified female suspect jumped into the Chevy and snatched the Ed Hardy designer bag, valued at about $950 including the contents. Quantina Shatae Badger, 22, of Hallandale Beach, admitted she was the driver of the car and was seen on video using the stolen credit cards at a Hollywood shoe store the same night. Badger was arrested January 5th and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, burglary, grand theft and credit card and ID fraud. Bond was set at $26,000, and she was released from jail on January 8th.

Another surveillance video obtained by detectives shows the unidentified female purse-snatching suspect withdrawing cash from an ATM at the Happy Family Food Market in Dania Beach the night of the caper. She was wearing a striped shirt in the surveillance video and stole several hundred dollars using Morris’ cards.
