Christmas Eve morning 2010 is a day that a handful of Coral Springs kids will not soon forget. The morning was filled with surprises as fire trucks pulled into several neighborhoods bearing gifts for kids. The trucks were filled to capacity with toys that had been donated by local businesses, firefighters and their families, and from the firefighters benevolent fund.
The Coral Springs Professional Firefighters Benevolent Association has been doing community charities for the past several years. The past three years have included special gifts to needy children in the City of Coral Springs.
Based on information from the School Board of Broward County, three families names were selected for this years toy drive. These three families submitted their lists to Santa to the firefighters. The firefighters were able to get the gifts from Santa’s workshop one day early, so they could deliver them to those kids in need.
