Broward bus routes changing October 31

Beginning Sunday, October 31, 2010, Broward County Transit (BCT) will make the following bus service changes:

• Route 1 Frequency increased on Saturday from 30 to 20 minutes
• Route 2 Frequency reduced from 40 minutes to 60 minutes on Saturday
• Route 3 Route eliminated
• Route 4 Discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 9 p.m.
• Route 5 Discontinue Saturday service after 9 p.m.
• Route 6 Frequency reduced from 40 minutes to 60 minutes on Saturday
• Route 7 Discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 11 p.m.
• Route 9 Discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 10 p.m.
• Route 10 Discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 11 p.m.
• Route 11 Discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 11 p.m. and frequency reduced on Saturday from 30 minutes to 40 minutes.
• Route 14 Discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 11 p.m.
• Route 15 Discontinue Saturday and Sunday service, reduce weekday service to 6 – 10 a.m. and 3 – 7 p.m. and modify route to cover segments of route 17
• Route 16 Eliminate Sunday service and discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 9 p.m.
• Route 17 Route eliminated but service will continue with some segments of route 15. See route 15.
• Route 20 Discontinue Saturday service after 9 p.m.
• Route 22 Discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 11 p.m.
• Route 23 Discontinue Saturday and Sunday service and reduce weekday service to 6 – 10 a.m. and 3 – 7 p.m. Weekday peak frequency reduced from 40 minutes to 60 minutes
• Route 28 Discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 11 p.m. and route will no longer service the Miramar Transit Center
• Route 30 Discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 11 p.m. and increase weekday frequency all day from 30 minutes to 20 minutes
• Route 31 Discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 11 p.m. and reduce Saturday frequency from 30 to 45 minutes
• Route 36 Bus will remain on Sunrise Boulevard from Sunset Strip to University Drive and pick up segments of the eliminated route 56 along Sunrise Boulevard
• Route 40 Discontinue Saturday service after 11 p.m.
• Route 42 Reduce frequency on Saturday from 30 to 45 minutes
• Route 48 Eliminate Sunday service and discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 9 p.m.
• Route 50 Discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 11 p.m.
• Route 56 Route eliminated. Segments of the route will be covered by realigning bus routes 36 and 81
• Route 57 Route eliminated
• Route 60 Discontinue weekday service after 11 p.m.
• Route 72 Frequency increased Saturday from 30 to 20 minutes and mid-day service, between mornings and afternoon peak hours, increased to 15 minutes
• Route 81 Route extended from Inverrary to West Regional Terminal and will pick up segments of the eliminated route 56
• Route 83 Discontinue Saturday and weekday service after 9 p.m. and frequency reduced on Saturday from 40 to 60 minutes
• Route 88 Eliminate Saturday and Sunday service

    BCT sucks! How could you even think of eliminating route #56? You could have reduced weekend servicce and even evening service, but NOT eliminate it. This will inconvenience many of the elderly, disabled, mentally challenged people. How would you know, you don”t even ride the buses. It was a really bad decision!
