Mental health burglar steals vacuum, other tools in Lauderdale Lakes; with video

Break-ins at mental health clinics are unusual, but this burglar did just that in order to steal, among other things, thermostats, tools, and an industrial vacuum cleaner.

A surveillance camera was capturing every moment as the man, who partially covered his face with a shirt, used a rock to break a glass door at the Henderson Mental Health Clinic located at 4720 North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes. The suspect is then seen calmly walking back and forth from the clinic to the parking lot as he drags out computer equipment, an industrial vacuum cleaner and other items. An employee of the clinic reported the burglary on Monday, July 12, when upon entering the office, he found the rock and glass on the on the floor. Detectives believe the crime occurred between 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, and early Monday morning.

The burglar was wearing blue jeans and a white tank top, and has a tattoo over his left shoulder blade.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this burglary should contact BSO Detective Mike Paparella at or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or www.browardcrimestoppers.org. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
