Tamarac man killed when running in traffic

A 36-year-old Tamarac man reportedly running in traffic on West McNab Road was hit by an oncoming car just after 1 a.m. Monday and later died at a hospital.

Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Detectives are investigating the incident, which happened at the intersection of Southwest 81st Avenue and McNab. Witnesses told investigators that Ruben Magano was running westbound in the right eastbound lane.
He then ran into the path of an eastbound 2005 Ford operated by Jamie Zollo of Fort Lauderdale. Zollo unsuccessfully attempted to avoid hitting Magano.

Magano was transported to North Broward Medical Center where he died at 3:31 p.m. Anyone with information about this crash can report it Det. Robert Miller at (or anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Broward County at (954) 493-TIPS or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
