Fourth of July in Sunrise

On Saturday, July 4, the City of Sunrise – in partnership with the BankAtlantic Center – will offer residents a full day of patriotic, family-friendly fun. Start the holiday with an old-fashioned Independence Day Parade featuring colorful floats and costumed characters, including a special appearance by Stanley C. Panther. The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. at NW 12th Street and wind its way west along Sunset Strip to City Park (located between NW 64th Avenue and NW 68th Avenue). That’s where you’ll enjoy our Party at the Park – with FREE food, rides and kids’ entertainment – until 1:00 p.m. For more information, call (

Don’t miss the evening’s July 4th Celebration & Fireworks presented by Blackberry, taking place at the BankAtlantic Center. The evening will feature food, beverage and retail vendors, as well as FREE live entertainment – including music, a children’s fun zone, and an incredible fireworks display courtesy of Sawgrass Mills. Nobody’s Fault will rock the stage at 6:30 p.m., followed by the soulful melodies of Love Child at 7:45 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:00 p.m.

Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and close at 10:00 p.m. Parking and admission are free. (Please enter the BankAtlantic Center from 136th Street.) Lawn chairs and umbrellas are permitted, but coolers are not. For more information, call (954) 835-PUCK.
