Fireworks Safety
Fireworks injuries happen all too often. They account for thousands of trips to the emergency room across the nation each Fourth of July and half of the victims are children under the age of 15. The personal use of fireworks in our neighborhoods has prompted the Coral Springs Police Department to take a firmer stance in addressing illegal fireworks. Please keep in mind that any fireworks that explodes or fly in the air are illegal, and any illegal fireworks will be confiscated. Setting off illegal fireworks could result in criminal charges being filed against the user.

As for legal fireworks, please follow these safety tips to help protect your loved ones:

  • Never light fireworks indoors or near dry grass.
  • Always have a bucket of water or fire extinguisher nearby.
  • Do not wear loose clothing while using fireworks.
  • Stand several feet away from lit fireworks.
  • If fireworks do not go off, do not stand over them.
  • Supervise children around fireworks at all times.

To report illegal use, please call
