Synergy Tennis Academy hosting pro-circuit event in January

It’s that time of year again — pro tennis will be headed to Tamarac, January 14-23, 2011! And – admission is FREE!

The 2011 Lawrence D. Share Company $10,000 Championships @ Synergy Tennis Academy, a $10,000 prize money tournament, will host players from all over the world in an exciting format that highlights both American talent, as well as international up-and-comers.

Synergy is excited to announce a new title sponsor for this year’s event: Lawrence D. Share Company (LDS), an insurance and financial firm for the medical community, located in Plantation, FL. Mr. Share is an avid tennis player at the tournament’s venue, Woodmont Country Club. “We are excited to have Mr. Share’s support in his sponsorship for the tournament, as well as American tennis,” said Damon Henkel, Tournament Director. “His involvement allows us to offer an even greater tournament atmosphere than last year.”

The 2011 Lawrence D. Share Company $10,000 Championships @ Synergy Tennis Academy is a USTA Pro Circuit event. Over the last 30 years, the USTA Pro Circuit has provided a welcoming environment for producing the next generations of American tennis players and champions, all while showcasing the game to new players and fans at the local level. It has grown to become the most comprehensive developmental tennis circuit in the world consisting annually of more than 90 tournaments and more than $3 million in prize money.

“(The USTA Pro Circuit) is like the minor leagues of tennis,” said Henkel, “where players try to earn enough ranking points to make it into the bigger pro circuit events.”

The 2011 Lawrence D. Share Company Futures at Synergy Tennis Academy will have over 150 players competing over the two week tournament period. “This is where James Blake, Mardy Fish and Andy Roddick started out,” said Henkel. “Two or three years down the road, the players you see here, will be players you see on TV.”

Synergy Tennis Academy led by Damon Henkel, Jesse Smatt, and Diego Ayala are coaches that make a difference. As coaches, they are constantly involved as a team, channeling their combined strengths when training an individual student. Their shared vision along with their coaching abilities and teamwork are the key to the success at Synergy Tennis Academy, located at Woodmont Country Club.
