Pantry of Broward collecting food at SunTrust Sunday Jazz Brunch

Sunday, June 6 kicks off the SunTrust Sunday Jazz Brunch, presented by The City of Fort Lauderdale, and sponsored by SunTrustSunTrust Sunday Jazz Brunch is an ideal way to relax and enjoy Fort Lauderdale’s scenic Riverwalk. This free, live, outdoor concert series brings the area’s best local jazz artists. Listen to the soulful sounds on four different stages on the first Sunday of each month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.   The Pantry of Broward, a local agency serving seniors on low, fixed incomes and grandparents raising their grandchildren will be on hand this Sunday collecting canned and packaged food items which allow the agency to support and serve its clients.  Especially needed foods are tuna fish, macaroni & cheese and peanut butter and jelly.  For more information, please contact Debbie Bylica, at or .   To learn how you can organize a food drive for The Pantry of Broward, contact Frank Fernandez, .

The 32nd annual Starlight Musicals series, presented by Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department and sponsored by Bank of America begins Friday, June 18 and continues each Friday evening through August 6 at the Holiday Park football field, located at East Sunrise Boulevard and Federal Highway, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  2010 scheduled performers range include a variety of musical acts covering Rhythm & Blues, Country, Motown, show tunes, era and classical rock genres.  On July 16, The Pantry of Broward, a local agency serving seniors on low, fixed incomes and grandparents raising their grandchildren, will be on hand to collect canned and packaged food items which allow the agency to support and serve its clients.  Especially needed foods are tuna fish, macaroni & cheese and peanut butter and jelly.  The volunteers will also be selling raffle tickets for prizes.  That evening, Brass Evolution, a 10-piece Show Band, is scheduled to be the featured performer.  For more information, please call the Parks and Recreation Special Events hotline at   To learn how you can organize a food drive for The Pantry of Broward, contact Frank Fernandez, .
