BSO releases video of stabbing on city bus in North Lauderdale; looking for identification

The county police are looking for a male who stabbed a victim on the city bus this afternoon in North Lauderdale. The Broward Sheriff’s Office has released a video of the man in hopes of identifying him.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office is looking for a male in his 20’s who boarded the southbound bus at Southgate Blvd. and S.R. 7 around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. A few blocks south of there, Andrew Adams (dob 10/19/91) boarded the bus at Kimberly Blvd. and S. R. 7 with another male. Almost immediately after they boarded the bus, Adams and the first subject that boarded the bus began fighting. The bus driver heard the commotion in the back of the bus and pulled the bus over. As the fight traveled towards the front of the bus, Adams was stabbed by the knife-wielding suspect.

The bus driver opened the doors and the suspect exited the bus. A short time later Adams, stabbed in the chest, managed to exit the bus with the man who got on with him.

BSO deputies working a mass transit squad detail quickly converged on the scene and North Lauderdale Fire Rescue treated Adams, who was then airlifted by BSO Air Rescue to North Broward Medical Center.

At the time of the stabbing there were approximately 30 passengers riding the bus. BSO Aggravated Felony detectives are seeking additional witnesses on the bus who saw the fight and stabbing. Additionally, they are seeking the identity and whereabouts of the suspect seen in the video. Anyone with this information can call BSO Det. Mike Lott at or call Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477). Anonymous online tips can also be submitted to www.BrowardCrimeStoppers.org.
