Broward police doing more aggressive traffic enforcement tonight

The Broward Sheriff’s Office Regional Traffic Enforcement Unit (RTEU) deputies, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers and officers from numerous local police departments will be out in force ticketing aggressive drivers from 7:30 – 11:30 p.m. on February 26.

Friday’s “Blitz on Aggressive Drivers” will concentrate on Interstate 95 throughout Broward County.

Unconventional, unmarked cars and motorcycles will be used in addition to marked patrol cars to zero in on aggressive drivers, speeders, “Move Over Law” violators and seatbelt scofflaws.

First introduced in October 2008, Operation “BAD” is an ongoing effort conducted on the interstates, toll roads and highways in Broward County. Participating agencies, in addition to those listed above, include: Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Davie, Florida Dept. of Transportation, Hollywood, Lauderhill, Lighthouse Point, Margate, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Sunrise and Wilton Manors police departments.
