Students invited to Youth Empowerment and Diversity Summit on Jan. 18

Coral Springs is inviting middle and high school students to a dialogue about youth issues at a Youth Empowerment and Diversity Summit. The Summit will be held as part of the City’s traditional Martin L. King, Jr. Monday workshop on January 18. In addition to the day’s focus on diversity, non-violence and mutual respect, activities will also cover aspects of empowerment, leadership and community to enable participants to become responsible and informed citizens.

Middle school students will meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon, while high school students will gather from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Both groups will meet at the Coral Springs Gymnasium, located at 2501 Coral Springs Drive.

There will be a special keynote speaker and students will have the opportunity to have round table discussions with the Coral Springs City Commission. Students must pre-register. Participants will receive free t-shirts and earn a total of eight service hours.
