Broward mayor honored as a “Woman of Distinction” today

Broward County Mayor Stacy Ritter has been named a “Woman of Distinction” by the March of Dimes. The Mayor will be honored at

the 14th Annual Broward County Women of Distinction luncheon on Friday, November 6, at Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa in Fort Lauderdale.

Each year the March of Dimes honors women whose outstanding achievements both professionally and personally serve as an example in the Broward County community.

Other 2009 Broward March of Dimes Women of Distinction honorees include:

M. Margaret Bates of Lauderhill
Commissioner for the City of Lauderhill for the past 11 years

Elizabeth “BJ” Buntrock of Fort Lauderdale
Founded and continues to volunteer for the Pantry of Broward in Fort Lauderdale

Kathryn G. Dinkin of Miami Beach
Regional president for Wachovia-A Wells Fargo Company

Nadine Floyd of Cooper City

Shannon Hori of Coral Gables
