Daredevil to be shot out of a cannon at Seminole Casino Hollywood on August 31st

He’s “the world’s highest flying human cannonball” and he’ll be shot out of a cannon in the parking lot of the Seminole Casino Hollywood on the evening of August 31 with a number hidden under his jacket on his shirt worth up to $15,000 for  one lucky winner. The public is invited to witness the event, free of charge.

He’s 32-year-old David “The Bullet” Smith (, and he’s performed this death-defying act to the delight of the public in seven countries for more than 5,000 shows over the past 13 years. MTV recorded his launch over the Grand Canyon and he’s been featured on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and on Guinness World Records’ Prime Time show, as well as in a documentary for the Discovery Channel.

At 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 31, “The Bullet” will be launched 70 feet into the air at approximately 90 miles per hour for a length of 150 feet over the paved Seminole Casino Hollywood parking lot into a net as part of a month-long circus-themed promotion. As far as he can determine, it’ll be the first time it’s ever been done at a casino, said Seminole Casino Hollywood Director of Marketing Robert Dearstine.

There’s always the risk of missing. Thirty people reportedly have died over the years performing this daredevil feat.

Here’s how the promotion works: On Monday, Aug. 31 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. four winners will win up to $500 in cash every half hour from the “Ringmaster Stash of Cash”. One of those winners will win an entry into the grand prize drawing at 10:30p.m. The resulting eight grand prize drawing finalists will take VIP seats to watch David “The Bullet” Smith launch onto the safety net, after which he’ll open his jumpsuit to reveal the lucky ticket number. The finalists will then open up their tickets. The finalist with that matching ticket number will then choose one of eight carnival tents, winning anywhere from $5,000 up to $15,000.

The Seminole Casino Hollywood is located at 4150 North State Road 7 (U.S. Highway 441), just south of Stirling Road, in Hollywood, Florida. For more information call or 1-866-2-CASINO or visit
