Ft Laud police investigating arson

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is investigating an arson that occurred on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at approximately 8:30 A.M.  The incident took place at 1000 State Road 84, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a witness was driving by the location when he saw a white male standing in-between two vehicles.  The culprit was observed shutting the door to a silver Cadillac, at which time, the vehicle became engulfed in flames.  The culprit was than observed running into Club Purgatory.

Fort Lauderdale Police Officers made contact with the white male later identified as Anthony Sannizzaro Jr., 10/12/1948, a Davie Resident.  Sannizzaro was observed with minor burns on his right arm and on his shirt.  Sannizzaro was positively identified by the witness as the male he saw by the Cadillac, prior to it bursting into flames.  Sannizzaro was taken into custody and charged with Arson.  It should be noted that Sannizzaro is the owner of Club Purgatory.
