Funtastic Fridays for Kids

Hope Tote Campaign: Assembling of Totes

Help assemble Hope Totes for Broward Outreach Center, a local homeless shelter. Volunteers are needed to place hygiene items into bags. The bags will be distributed throughout the year to homeless men, women, and children.

Date: Monday, April 13th

Time: 9:00am – 2:00pm

Number of Volunteers Needed: 10 volunteers

Expo Alfresco

Come assist with Expo Alfresco at ArtsPark at Young Circle. This food tasting event will feature over 40 restaurants giving out samples of their delicious cuisines. Volunteers are needed to assist vendors, help with set-up and break-down, distribute food, supervise children area, and run errands throughout the event. You must be 17 years old or older to volunteer.

Date: Wednesday, April 29th

Time: There are three 5 hour shifts available from 8am to 9:30pm.

Shifts: 8am – 1pm; 12pm to 5pm; & 4:30pm – 9:30pm

High School Students Wanted!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center

Department: Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Arts Department

Position: Recreation Assistant
Days: Monday
– Friday (days flexible)

Time: 2:00pm to 6:30pm

Volunteer Description: Volunteers will assist in signing in and out the aftercare program’s students and assist in helping with homework and recreational activities. Volunteers must be friendly, love working with children, and positive.

German Translator

Department: Records & Archive Division

Days: Monday – Friday (days flexible)

Time: 8:00am to 4:00pm (hours flexible)

Volunteer Description: Volunteers will translate German documents and scrapbooks by a renowned Hollywood photographer. Proficiency in Microsoft Word is required.

Broward Outreach Center: Thanksgiving in April

Help at BOC Thanksgiving in April event! The event is geared towards addressing the immediate needs of our homeless men, women, and children by providing basic hygiene supplies, feet care, and good food. The Broward Outreach Center aims to feed approximately 200 homeless and needy at this event.

Earth Day Together: Green Eco-Action Event

Join Kids Ecology Corps as hundreds of local student and parent volunteers remove exotic plants, plant red mangroves, sea oats and other native plants to protect and restore vital habitat and nursery grounds for fish and bird life in South Florida.

College Summit: Volunteers Needed

College Summit is a national nonprofit organization that partners with schools and districts to strengthen college-going culture and increase college enrollment rates. Volunteers are needed to assist in the summer to coach students in small teams complete college application, write personal essay, and work one-on-one as a college counselor.

High School Volunteers: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Help by completing basic office and administrative tasks and assisting with Patient Services Department. Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The society’s mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
